Design Visualisation
Boutique Quarter
A boutique retail concept where the lighting plan, not the fit-out, does the merchandising.
The Design Story
A concept for a small premium retail floor — the scale at which most Indian boutiques and studios actually operate.
Display runs around the perimeter as a continuous shelving system with lighting integrated into each shelf edge, so product is lit from directly above rather than from a distant ceiling fitting. This is the single decision that most distinguishes a premium retail interior from an ordinary one: when the ambient level is kept low and the merchandise is lit precisely, the product appears to glow and the room recedes.
A central island display is kept deliberately low so the perimeter remains visible from the entrance, and the service counter is placed on the far side of the floor to draw customers through the full depth of the space rather than transacting at the door.
Materials are restricted to three: a warm timber for the shelving carcass, a honed stone for the counter and island top, and brushed metal for shelf edges and handles. A recessed feature ceiling element above the counter marks the point of sale without signage.
Awaiting photography or visualisation before this scheme is published in full.
This is a concept design produced by the studio. It is presented to illustrate our design approach and is not represented as a completed client project.
